  2. There are many ways to play one's hand, but in order for Portugal to succeed I believe they need to do the following:
    1]Dispose of the Euro and revert to a domestic currency,
    2]consolidate all their debt through a long term loan from the IMF with favorable terms,
    3] execute a fiscal stimulatory package, combined with smart austerity,
    4] and last but not least, achieve political stability through strong leadership.
